Brazilian entrepreneur Cesar Augusto Olsen selects Daher Aircraft’s TBM 980 for business travel across Brazil

August 6, 2026, São Paulo, Brazil – Daher Aircraft has announced the acquisition of a new TBM 980 by Brazilian entrepreneur Cesar Augusto Olsen – the founder of Olsen Indústria e Comércio S/A – who is upgrading from a TBM 850 to the latest version of the fast, efficient aircraft family.

The agreement was celebrated during this week’s LABACE 2026 (the Latin American Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition) in São Paulo, where Olsen joined Daher Aircraft executives at the company’s exhibit stand to mark the acquisition.

Olsen Indústria e Comércio S.A. is a global manufacturer of dental, medical and veterinary equipment whose products are exported to more than 100 countries.

« Cesar Olsen’s decision to upgrade to the TBM 980 is a strong endorsement of the aircraft’s value for customers, » said Michel Adam de Villiers, Daher Aircraft’s Vice President of Sales. « Brazil continues to be one of our most important international markets, and repeat customers demonstrate how the TBM family meets demanding transportation requirements of businesses throughout the country. »

Olsen added: « Our TBM has become an essential business tool, allowing us to efficiently reach distributors throughout Brazil. After experiencing the TBM 850’s performance and reliability during the past two years, stepping up to the TBM 980 was a natural progression: it provides the speed, efficiency and technology that support our company’s continued presence and growth. »

In strengthening the Brazilian presence for customer relationships and technical support, Daher established its São Paulo-based Daher Aircraft Brasil entity last October. The initiative has contributed to a new phase of growth for Daher Aircraft in Brazil, where six TBM 980s and one TBM 960 have been sold since October.

« This Brazilian entity has brought us closer to our customers and strengthened our long-term commitment to the Brazilian market, » said Paulo C Olenscki, Executive Director of Daher Aircraft Brasil. « The local presence enables us to better understand operators’ requirements and reinforce the technical support. »

Brazil’s diverse operating environment is well suited to both airplane families in Daher Aircraft’s portfolio: the pressurized six-seat TBM 980 and TBM 960, as well as the utility-category 10-seat Kodiak 100 and Kodiak 900. The country’s geographic size and strong industry sectors – including agribusiness, construction and mining – create a solid demand for efficient regional transportation solutions that play to the strengths of both the TBM and Kodiak.

Today, approximately 60 TBMs of various versions are operated in Brazil, along with seven Kodiak 100s.

The TBM 980 was unveiled by Daher Aircraft in January 2026, and more than 30 aircraft already have been delivered to customers worldwide. At the heart of this latest TBM version is Garmin’s G3000® PRIME avionics, which introduces a highly intuitive interface with three 14-inch edge-to-edge touchscreen displays. The avionics improve cockpit ergonomics and reduces pilot workload through customizable presets and a streamlined user interface.

The TBM 980 is particularly well suited to Brazil’s diverse operating environment. Its maximum cruise speed of 610 km/h (330 kts.) and maximum 3,204-kilometer (1,730-nautical mile) range enable rapid, efficient nonstop travel between the country’s widely dispersed business centers while providing access to smaller regional airports closer to final destinations – as well as the capability to operate from semi-prepared runways.

Precision piloting and excellent operational efficiency are ensured with the TBM 980’s features adopted from Daher’s popular TBM 960 version, including Pratt & Whitney Canada’s PT6E-66XT intelligent turboprop engine and the five-blade Hartzell composite propeller – both of which are controlled by a Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system.
