Daher launches a new era of enhanced flight operations for TBM aircraft with the “Me & My TBM” smartphone app

Friedrichshafen, Germany

TBM aircraft owners and operators were introduced today to Daher’s revolutionary new smartphone application that significantly enhances operating efficiency, optimizes maintenance management and ensures they are operating their very fast turboprop aircraft to the highest safety standards.

Unveiled during a keynote presentation at Germany’s AERO Friedrichshafen general aviation show, the cloud-based “Me & My TBM” app for Android and iOS leverages data that is automatically collected during every phase of flight.

“The ‘Me & My TBM’ app provides unique and valuable feedback on TBM flights, from key parameters of the engine and other systems to a full range of statistics accessible wherever the aircraft goes,” explained Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the Daher Airplane Business Unit.

This eliminates the need to send flight logs, as well as trend and report data files to the CAMP maintenance tracking system, avoiding the fastidious task of downloading data on a personal computer – while also directly updating aircraft counters on the CAMP system.

In addition, advanced customer support is now possible at operators’ discretion, as the “Me & My TBM” app gives TBM Care teams the capability to access and analyze all flight parameters in less than one hour after a flight.

“The ‘Me & My TBM’ app’s current version is just a first step,” Chabbert added. “We are committed to further developments, offering TBM owners and pilots more personalized services in the future: predictive maintenance, proactive support and auxiliary services. This tool takes flying the TBM very fast turboprop aircraft to a new level.”

Development of the “Me & My TBM” application leveraged the Daher parent company’s expertise in the field of big data – enabling the collection, processing and analysis of more than four billion data points generated every day by the TBM in-service fleet.

Daher is a leader in Industry 4.0, continually investing in the digital supply chain (automation, robotics, connected objects, predictive analytics, etc.) to offer innovative solutions to its customers, as well as in the development of proprietary tools that bring improvements in productivity, real-time visibility and mobility.

The “Me & My TBM” app is available for all TBM 910 and TBM 930 Model Year 2018 aircraft, and can be downloaded from Google Play Store for Android smartphones, and from Apple Store for iOS smartphones.

With the TBM 910 and TBM 930 offered in their latest versions, connectivity also reaches a new level with the implementation of Garmin’s Flight Stream 510 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth linkup system to mobile devices running Garmin Pilot or Foreflight apps.

Other new features on the Model Year 2018 aircraft are tailored for improved pilot interface. This includes backlighting on the cockpit’s central console to provide enhanced visibility at night for the manual trim, power lever, flaps lever and override controls. Additionally, a high-fidelity microphone has been incorporated in the pilot’s oxygen mask for clear communications with air traffic control when the mask is in use.

Daher is exhibiting the TBM 910 and TBM 930 at this week’s AERO Friedrichshafen show, where the functionality of its “Me & My TBM” app also is being demonstrated. The company is present on exhibit stand no. 321 in Hall 3 in the Messe Friedrichshafen exhibition site, located adjacent to Friedrichshafen Airport.
