Why this Chair ?
|
|
DAHER guarantees safety and security of packaging and transport for the Nuclear sector |
DAHER is raising the profile of two of its sectors of excellence among the engineers of tomorrow |
In Aerospace, as in the Nuclear industry, DAHER uses metals in the design of increasingly complex products and processes. To better take into account the uncertainties inherent in the dimensioning of products and ensure the stability of special processes such as welding, forming or forging, the Group aims to foster innovation in implementation of metals, building on the skills and the new ideas of engineering students from two prestigious schools. DAHER is making significant investments to position itself at the cutting edge of innovation, leveraging strong engineering expertise that is both a source of added value for its present services and a springboard to develop future know-how. This Chair will also serve to deliver reductions in costs and lead times incurred by the Group in the field of metals research.
A Chair focusing on 6 areas
- mechanical modelling and thermal-chemical-irradiation coupling
- multi-scale modelling
- integrated simulation of materials; life cycle
- characterisation techniques
- variability: taking into account of uncertainties on materials and stresses
- innovative design methodologies, optimisation
Ever more effective collaboration
The CEMEF and Subatech Lab research centres at Mines ParisTech and Mines de Nantes will be forums for dialogue between students and DAHER engineers. Their complementarities will help solve complex metal engineering issues while at the same time enabling future engineers to hone their skills.
A thesis will be published on the work carried out. In the meantime, enjoy some of the highlights from the Chair...…
